The strategy uses pre-reading strategies such as identifying and defining important vocabulary words and identifying important concepts throughout the reading. While students are reading, or after, students use textual evidence and examples to support the concepts identified before reading. These three points create the Vocabulary, Concepts, Evidence, and Examples (VCEE, affectionately referred to as "Vicki" by my students) reading strategy.
